4th of July

We had a week full of fun around the 4th of July. We started off by going down to Palisade July 1st to  July 3rd to spend some time with Herb, Vicki, Taylor, Jess & Mike. It was HOT down there, but luckily we rented a cabin that had AC! Thank goodness because that is where I spent the majority of the time because usually one of the girls was always napping. We got Emmy to a new helmet to go 4 wheeling and she LOVED it! They didn't do much 4 wheeling this year because it as so hot and dusty. The little girls didn't sleep the best this week that we were gone, and we were definitely all ready to be home by the end of the week in our own beds. The older kids were able to rent a paddle boat with dad and play in the lake one day.

We left Palisade and headed to Vernal on the 3rd so we could spend the 4th there. We went to the parade and Emmy was a hoot. She was in awe the entire time, and kept saying "Papa!!! Papa!! LOOK!" I have pictures of all my kids pointing and waving at parades.

We then went to Debbie's and had hamburgers for lunch. I had also made a request to my dad to make dutch oven potatoes for me. He made them for dinner that night and so we went up and spent some time with him and Cassi. We then headed to watch the fireworks at Jake and Whitney Phillip's funeral home since it is right by the city park. Emmy hasn't really seen fireworks because she was usually in bed when we would go. She was in awe once again and kept my dad running around as well LOOKING. But after about 20 minutes she was done and ready for bed. So we left a little early and that was ok with us.

We usually had at least one kid in bed with us at all times while we were in Vernal. I loved this picture of Lyndin and Ty.

We alway love visiting family and friends when we go back to Vernal! Home is where your family is. That means your home can be many places. We have family lots of places and all places feel a little like home.
