End of year wrap up

Looking back on 2020, it was definitely full of lots of inconveniences. We had a complete world wide shut down. We couldn't go to church, school shut down and we had to do homeschool, there was an earth quake, sporting events were canceled, to hang out with family was discouraged , traveling was banned, grocery stores were bare, and people are dying from this Covid still. We still are encouraged to social distance as much as we can, and asked to wear masks. Our new "normal" is definitely looking a lot different than it did a year ago.

With in this year though we still did "us" things.  We still did things as a family, we just had to figure out new ways. We bought a camper, we bought a side by side, we did at home theatre's, and we went walking and riding bikes together.  Sports resumed, school resumed, stores restocked their shelves, some of the traveling bans were lifted, and guess what? We still were "us"

Here are some highlights of each of us:

Dad: he got put in the Elder's quorum this year, he finally got the camper and side by side he has been dreaming of, he built us a new deck, he got braces, he lost some weight, he learned how to work from home, he started therapy, he did work on the house in vernal to get ready to sell, and he learned what mom does all day long.

Mom: got put in as the compassionate service director, she got her disneyland fix (which closed right after we got back and still has not reopened), she got braces, she started therapy(which then led to dad going and also going as a couple), she lost some weight, she learned how to be a teacher, she learned how to use her imagination on keeping kids entertained, she read/listened to  256 books this year, and she learned how to become a better self.

Addi: has hit another growth spurt, was asked to play on a 6th grade volleyball team, made the A team for club volleyball, made some amazing plays in softball, went trick or treating with friends this year instead of parents, she is becoming even more responsible, she got to go on a one on one trip with dad camping, she is learning to cook more things on her own, and she is learning how her actions of love really do help people.

Parker: is growing taller too, got to play fall soccer even though spring soccer was cancelled, started basketball, is getting way good at his games, he is learning multiplication, he is a silent helper, he is very responsible as well, he got his own room, he leaned to swim even better, he also learned how to drive the 4 wheeler by hisself, and learning that he can be independent and do his own thing.

Emmy: graduated preschool on her birthday, started kindergarten, got to move to the top bunk, decided she loves american girl dolls, played t-ball for the first time, still loves to dance, can swim without her life jacket, is still full of energy but is learning how to control it better, and loves to help when I ask her for help.

Lyndin: no more diapers for her, she started preschool, she is in a big girl bed and now shares a room with Emmy, she still loves make up, she can count to 30, she is great at supporting all her siblings in all their doings and goings, she is becoming more and more independent each day, she gets to be the only child at home some days, she is my little side kick that goes wherever I go and is sad when she doesn't get to go with me.

This year was year to reflect on to say the least. I realized that we all can do hard and different things. I know in 2021 we will learn new things too. Can't wait to see what those will be!
