Christmas eve/Christmas day

Christmas Eve is always full of so much excitement! Rosie our elf brought the kids some new pajamas. We aren't huge Christmas eve tradition people. Our friend Rachel didn't have any plans or family around and so she came down and hung out with us most of the afternoon/evening. We taught her how to play Cover your Assets. Then the kids were super eager to go to bed because they all new Santa was coming.

The kids all slept horrible because I think they all knew what was coming. The older kids woke me up at 6 am. Santa definitely left some good goodies for us! He was a bit messy this year and left his footprints by the front door.

We are very grateful for the gifts we received and that we were blessed to be able to give the gifts we did. Everyone was full of smiles and had so much fun all day playing with all their new things.

Grandma Shelly came down and had dinner with us. We decided to try to smoke a prime rib. It turned out VERY tasty! We then had a movie theatre night and watched the movie Soul. We ended the fun day with an ice cream bar full of toppings to choose from.

I am grateful that the Christmas season allows us to reflect on Christ's birth. This year the kids commented on it a lot more that it was Jesus' birthday. I am grateful for the birth of him and what it brought to the world. Christmas is a magical season for more than one reason.
