October was a scary month. It was super warm one day and then the next day we had 4 inches of snow. But on the warm days we were outside enjoying the nice weather. Here we go for this month's updates!
Emmy brought home this rainbow ghost. Totally her personality.
One of the last steam engines left in the US came through Utah the first week of October. His name is Big Boy. He was stopped in Provo for a few days and was planning to come through Spanish Fork on his way down to Nevada. I let the kids go late to school and we went and watched him drive by. WOW was what all of us could say. He was so loud with his steam horn and he was going super fast. All the kids still talk about how cool it was to see Big Boy and how they want to see it again. Addi was able to put some coins down on the track before he came and after she found most of them flattened. Some she couldn't find.
Parker has been asking to have a birthday party since probably March. He has never had one before because I'm not a big birthday party mom. I told him he could invite a couple friend to go with him to go do something. After talking things out and both of us deciding that he could go to Coin Crazy with a couple friends. He was able to go on the first saturday in October. He had a lot of fun penguin time with Jonathan, Jade, and Conner.
My neighbor Emily likes to hold a conference breakfast every gereral conference. It was only suppose to be 30 degree sunday morning and so she asked if we could have it at our house. Of course I said sure.. we figured we had about 56 people in our house that morning. It was fun to have that many people in our home, even though it stresses me out before hand.
Lyn was outside waiting for dad to come home and was enjoying the quiet time.
School Picture time!! Addi 5th grade, Parker 2nd, and Emmy last year of preschool
We went to Vernal for Casch Phillips baptism on the 12th. I was able to go visit with Breann for a little bit and Lyndin happened to take these pictures of her and I. You can tell we were both talking about something serious.
Like I said, I was pretty serious about making the kids play outside. They get pretty creative. Addi pulling the little ones on the electric scooter.
Lyn and Emmy love to play dress up. But they like to call it fashions.
Over UEA weekend which is the 3rd week in October we decided to go to a little corn maze/ pumpkin patch. We had corn kernels every where. But I love all the smiles and laughs they had while we were doing it.
Addi had a halloween softball tournament that 3rd saturday of the month. Ohh boy it was cold. I packed blankets, but I didn't pack enough so we ran to walmart to buy some gloves, ear warmers, and hand warmers. Grandma decided to be fun and ge the kids all some sunglasses too.
Addi's little team took 2nd place in the tournament. The championship game was played durning the worst of the rain storm. They were tough little girls. They were dressed up as robbers.
We stayed the 2 nights at nana's and grandpas since the tournament was near their house. Nana was fun and made donuts into mounters and then let the kids play with the teeth.
Addi loves to do origami. She made these little rabbits for ty and I.
We made a quick visit to grandma at work. Lyn drew her some great pictures.
We had a park play date with some friends. While waiting for them to get there Emmy and Lyn were playing mcdonald with their pads of paper and pens.
We had been trying to take one of the kids on a date once a week. They rotate turns. It was Lyndin's turn and we went to pick out some makeup for her because she is obsessed with it lately.
This is a good reminder quote.
On friday's for carpool pick up we have been walking home. Emersyn decided to come with me one day to pick them up. She was quite the little jabber box and talked the whole way to me about everything. I loved it!
Lyn loves to take my AirPods and pretend to listen to music. I don't know how much she is actually listening to when she enters them like this.
The little girls can be quite the helpers. This was them trying to help dad change the oil in the motorcycle.
I love little candid pictures. She was determined to get this shirt on before she had taken off her pajamas.
The kids had their primary program the last sunday of October. With the time change of church they did lots of singing. Singing always brings in the spirit. Addi was one of the few older kids that gave a short talk. She talked about how she helped a neighbor when she was being bullied. She said she was being like Jesus because she was helping someone that was sad.
Lyndin LOVES cucumbers. She wanted a whole one and would not leave it at home while we went to the store. She was eating it like you would a pickle.
Addi has been asking me for a long time if she could dye her hair blue. I told her she could dye it after she had school pictures. Soo... here she is with blue hair. It will wash out after a little while. It made her happy and it is something different and fun.
Once again this girl and her makeup!
Halloween!!! was super cold this year. We had a cute bat (that all my kids have been at this age), a cute unicorn, a star wars pilot, and a rabbit! We always love going to the school costume parade and seeing all the cute costumes.
Parker also had a 2nd grade halloween program. He had the first part of program. He was a great little singer and also had some killer dance moves.
Later that afternoon we went up to dad's work and went trick or treating to a few of the offices. Then we went up to Grandma Shelly's to trick of treat around her neighborhood. We only lasted an hour outside because it was getting so cold.
I'm not sure if we are quite ready for winter, but we always try to pack in as much outside time as we can in the fall because we know we will be cooped up. October was a fun month full of memories.
