This Christmas season was as busy as it usually is for us. On the 22nd of December we travel out to Vernal to spend time with family before Christmas. This was our first time doing it like this since we have moved away from Vernal. We usually go out the day after Christmas and spend the week there until New Years. We switched it up this year because we had family parties schedule that weekend. It was nice to spend time with family, but it was a quick and furious trip. We got a lot crammed in before we left on Christmas eve day.
We went to my dad's and Cassi's for a family party Friday night. All of us were able to make it including Cassi's kids. Then the next morning we went up to Julia's to have breakfast with them and grandma debbie. We then got back to Grandma Debbie's and opened up her presents to us. We came home with a carload full of new toys and things from both sets of grandparents there. We told the kids that we didn't need to open up any more presents because they got plenty in Vernal. They didn't like that idea too much.
Later Saturday night we had a big Massey family Christmas party. This is a party that has been going on for a super long time. I remember doing a big Christmas party with all my cousins when I was little. Our family has grown so much that we did it at a church this year. We haven't gone to the Massey christmas party in a while because it is always on the weekend before we come out to Vernal. It was fun to spend some time with my side of the family.
We made it back to Spanish Fork on Sunday, Christmas Eve about 1:30. Grandma Shelly came down to spend the night with us and we all got ready for Santa to come.
The kids woke up about 6:30 and we so excited to see what Santa had brought. We let Lyndin sleep and she didn't wake up till about 8.
Emery got a dollhouse with dolls, Parker got a new train piece and a kindle, Addi got a kindle and a bunny rabbit set, and Lyndin got a suitcase and some baby toys from Santa.
The kids actually didn't blow through opening their presents right away like they usually do. Okay well the girls didn't blow through their presents. Parker loved opening presents and wanting to see what everyone got and wanted to help us open ours. The girls would open a present play with it and then move on to the next one.
This was Parker's favorite present from anyone. It was from Grandma Shelly and it was is HUGE race car garage. He just stood there smiling at it and then of jumped on it and was yelling for us to open it up to build.
When Lyndin woke up Parker was all about helping her open her presents and showing her what they did. She was in awe of all the wrapping paper and boxes.
My mom got me this picture frame. I did tear up a little bit when I opened it. I then immediately told her that she needed to open up my present to her since I kind of had a similar theme of pictures. She may have cried when she opened hers as well. She had no idea that I had snuck all her pictures from her house.
My mom told me the story behind my Grandma Gardner's picture. In the picture my Grandma is only 16 years old. Her and her friends were playing around with a camera and props one day and snuck in this picture. My grandma didn't graduate high school because she got married only about a year after this. Later on she did receive her GED. I love having this frame, now I just need to find some where to put it.
