May

May we all make it through the summer.

These pictures are going to be all scattered and out of chronological order because they uploaded funny.

May was SOOO full. We had so many events going on, and thankfully we came out with smiles. Mom may have had a few tears in there because it got overwhelming at times.

To kick off summer we took sandwiches to Salem Pond and enjoyed being outside. Dad was in St. George for work.

The Clegg's also had a kick off to summer with their girls soccer teams. They had a bubble machine and invited the neighborhood over to play in it after the soccer girls were done. Lyn was the only one that went over to play because Parker and Emmy had already showered because they went to Splash Summit to swim.

The 29-31st we had girls camp in SLC. We rented a house and then went and toured the conference center and also the church history museum. We then hung out and took naps, played games and made dinner. The girls also did an evening hike, but I didn't go because it was the same time as Emmy's dance concert. I went up after the concert. All the girls seemed to have a fun time. I was a bit emotional on the last day because it will be more than likely my last girls camp with them. I have asked to be released. Not because I don't love them. I actually would stay with them forever, but the mantle of being in charge does get heavy. I am loosing steam. These girls though are so strong and they are always showing me what it looks like to strive to be like christ.

The 29th Emmy had her recital. She danced so beautifully and looked so good! She did her own makeup and totally was in her element.

These pictures were taken by a photographer.

Memorial Day weekend was full of fun in Vernal. Kenadee graduated which is a big deal! We brought our our camper and camped. It was fun to be with cousins and grandparents. We also did graves and it was so fulfilling to have us all together. Being at Kelden's grave really tender. I know he is there with us when we are all together.

We brought out the BB guns while out camping. They were a big hit.

May 22 was the last day of school!! We made it! The kids had mixed emotions on it ending. They were both excited and sad. Lots of new things were learned this year!

State track was so memorable this year. Addi got on the podium in each of her events. She did the 300m hurdles- 3rd place 45.14 time, 4x200 relay- 2nd place 1:44.69, high jump-2nd place 5-3. jump, and long jump-5th place 16-9.75 jump.

So many proud tears from both her and us. She gave it her all and it was amazing to see her succeed.
The other BIG news is that the girls team took 2nd place over all at state. We won by .5 of a point. It all came down to the last relay that we were not in. We had as many points as we could get. The team that we were battling with needed to come in at least 5th place for us to win. In the relay that team actually was in 1st place for 2 legs. They started to get behind in the 3rd leg, and then in the last leg, they lost their lead. We were jumping in the stands and we look across the way and the girls were jumping for joy with their coaches as well. The girls track team having taken a state place in almost 12 years. It was so so amazing to see female athletes succeed.

The end of year track banquet. Addi received her athletic letter and also we awarded one of the athletes of the year for the team.

Emmy had Pioneer Day at school. She did quite the little pioneer dance with Payton. We also got to see her play some pioneer games. Grandma Shelly left her a little surprise note in her desk.

Nights watching Emmy play softball. Addi and Gavin hanging out and chatting the night away.

For a combined youth activity we hiked up to the cross. The views were so beautiful. I can't remember where Addi was that night that she couldn't be there, but I didn't miss the opportunity to take a picture with one of my favorite boys!

Lyn lost her other front tooth! She now is super toothless. She is a pro and removing her own teeth. She doesn't like dad taking them out.

More tears were shed at this next event. Addi was chosen as the female athlete of the year for the sophomore class. She was voted by the coaches of the school. She had no idea what kind of award she was going to get. She knew that she was getting something and she was so shocked when she saw what she was getting. Here is the write up her two coaches wrote for her..

Addilynn Jensen: From Coach Clawson: AJ is the kind of athlete every coach hopes to work with. She’s gritty, consistent, and deeply competitive, but what sets her apart is the way she shows up for her team, her sports, and for herself. Whether it’s practice or game day, AJ brings energy, focus, and a quiet leadership that elevates everyone around her. She’s earned respect not just through her talent, but through her work ethic, her resilience, and her willingness to grow. We are grateful for her dedication to the Don community.

From Coach Cable: AJ has excelled in track and field this year. She will qualify for state in four different events.  She is already on the top ten list for Spanish Fork in the long jump, high jump and the 300 meter hurdles.

It truly is amazing that her coaches see her more than for her athletic abilities. That they see in her a leader, a friend, and someone who gives her all. She is one of a kind.

The girls track team also earned the academic state award. There are 14 teams and they were the one that won because of their good grades. This girls team is outstanding in all the ways!

Mother's Day photos. I'm grateful for my kids and that they made me a mother. I do life and all the things because I love them and because I want them to have a great life.

Photos from region track. The muscles! She also did SO well at region. Multiple PR's and she placed 1st place in every event she competed in! She got her highest high jump at 5-4! LOTS of cheers from us and her coach!!!

She competed at the BYU invitational at the first of the month. The girls 4x200 relay took 2nd place. The invitational is one of the most competitive meets in the state because it doesn't go by your schools classification. You are competing with the best of the best. The girls also broke the school record during this race.

These next photos are from state.

The kids went out with Grandma to watch Avery's dance recital. They made a visit to Grandpa Larry. He is quite the character right now and you don't know what is going to happen and so they were looking at him waiting for him to do something silly with the hairbrush.
