January

January is always feels longer than 31 days. I think it's because it is still so cold outside and you still don't really want to get out. This January was pretty mild weather and we did a few walks outside even (bundled up of course). But all in all this month was pretty quiet for us as a whole. Still had the kids things like dance, practices, games, and all that come in-between. I found that I really didn't take many pictures though. With that, we will go with our monthly update.

New Year's Day we went up to Nana and Grandpa's and went sledding. Lyn only did two little hills and then called it good. Then she started to get brave and Grandpa helped her go higher on the hill. It was pretty nippy, but we all still left with smiles. There were some pretty good bails off the sleds by everyone. After this day the snow started to melt and we haven't been able to go sledding again.

It was Parker's turn to be student of the month. He received it for being committed. He is a very committed boy. He is great at getting his homework done, helping others, if he says he is going to do something he will. What a great attribute to be known for, being committed.

Emmy is loving writing and spelling. She leaves little notes for us and also loves to draw on boxes. If I have an empty box, she takes it. I have to sneak them out to the trash because she will get mad at me for throwing them away.

translation: mom and dad you are the best parents because you are the best parent in the world.

P has had basketball almost every Saturday for the past 6 weeks. He is quite the little baller and loves to run it down and try to score. Grandparents have been awesome in coming and supporting him. It was fun to see Addi and grandpa play with Parker after one of his games one day.

We haven't had a good snapchat photo in a while.

Emmy is the one that always stops me to ask me for my phone so she can take a picture of the sunsets. She will stop whatever she is doing and take time to enjoy the sunsets.

Her 1st grade class made a little video where they told us why they appreciate the people in their school. She was grateful for the front office secretary.

As I was leaving the house one early Saturday morning I saw this hot air balloon. It made me think of my childhood. Every Saturday we could see multiple hot air balloons in Vernal. I have actually rode in one before. It was a blast!

Addi had her first volleyball tournament on the 15th. It was in North Salt Lake and so we made a little mini vacation out of it and stayed at Little America. The Crandall's were able to stay one night there as well. It was a nice little break.

Lyn wasn't feeling the best that weekend. She was a super trooper though. She ended up falling asleep on ty's lap and slept like that for about 1.5 hours. There were whistles blowing all over the place so we knew she probably wasn't feeling the best. By that night she was better, but then myself and Emmy caught the gunk. It hit me pretty hard and I was down and out most of the next week.

I love catching her in the air when she is doing her jump serve.

Her team went undefeated that day. They started playing at 8 am that morning and we had our last game at 4 pm. Lots of volleyball! This is the first time she has ever gotten the gold medal in the gold bracket. Her selfie is the one that she sent to Nan.

We got new carpet up the stairs and then also upstairs. It was quite the process moving all the furniture, but the results were well worth the work. I am super happy with it!

Lyndin had her preschool friend Lexie come home with us. Lyn loved having a playmate while the other kids were at school. Lexie was adorable and her mom let me know she hadn't had many play dates. We wouldn't have ever guessed. I loved how she kept calling me Lyndin's mom.

The kids got a great surprise! Nan and baby Avery came out and had a sleep over. They have been asking for her to have a sleep over since she was like 2 days old. It was fun to have a little baby around the house again.

More basketball pictures. He is getting good at keeping those defenders away.

AJ had a 2 day tournament the last weekend of the month. It was loads of volleyball. We figured they played about 6 sets the first day and then about 12 or more sets on Saturday. She was absolutely exhausted the next day. They took 1st in the silver bracket. We had a couple rough losses earlier that day. Still awesome for them to keep fighting.
