Spokane, Washington

Girls trip to Spokane! In February I had text Whitney and told her that Ty suggested for us to go on a girls trip. She was all on board and we said we would try to think of ideas and stay in touch. Around the 16th Whitney's sister Maddy came to Utah to visit from Spokane, Washington. While texting Whit one night after Maddy has just left I asked her if she had ever been up to see Maddy. I then suggested that maybe if she hadn't that is where we should go for our girls trip. Maddy's husband was deployed at the time (more to that later) and she is pregnant. She gets a bit lonely up there because neither of them have family there. When I suggested it Whit said YES!!! let's go!!! Within a couple day we had our flights booked for about a month later. We were able to stay with Maddy at her house which was super helpful. Everyone kept asking what we were going to do and we would tell them all... whatever we want. We have no plans.

Little Lochlan was our travel partner for the trip and he did so amazing the entire trip! We had our own rows on the airplane while heading there. We left on the 17th and came back on the 22nd. Grandma Debbie came out to help dad with the kids so he could do some work.

Driving into Spokane. It was nice to have our own little travel guide. Maddy was able to tell us all the things about the town. I honestly thought it would be a bit denser than it was. It reminded me a lot of Utah terrain.

Maddy works as an Athletic director/ assistant principal at one of the schools up there. We went to visit her at work. It was fun to see her in her element. Washington has just opened up into Phase 2 and is allowing kids to come back to school as well as restaurants allowing patrons. We couldn't have timed it better.

We went to the mall and found the creepy easter bunny.

While Maddy was working we drove around the city. We went to Gonzaga University's campus. That is actually what got Maddy to go up there is the school for her Master's program. Wow!! What a beautiful campus. I didn't realize it was a Catholic school. We went into the cathedral and felt of the spirit. It is amazing that you can feel the spirit in any holy place.

We had some delicious food while we were there! We told ourselves we were going to go to new places that we couldn't go to in Utah. We achieved that goal.

We went for a little sky tram ride over the Spokane River and bridge. Pictures don't do it justice of how big and beautiful it was.

While over at the river we also found the cutest red wagon. It was huge!

Maddy then had a football game for school. It was the first one in the state that was allowing spectators. It was fun to a high school game again. The stadium was really nice.

Saturday morning we woke up and headed to get pedicures. I have not had a pedicure in almost 2 years. Ever since I had my bad ingrown toe nail I haven't gone. It is finally healed to a point that I don't feel nervous going. It was heavenly to get one done.

Later that day we drove about 40 minutes over the state boarder into Idaho and went to dinner at a place in  Couer D'Alene. Which is a BEAUTIFUL place! The lake is huge. Once again we had delicious dinner.

My little pal!

Maddy drove us by the temple on the way home from dinner. It is a pretty small temple, but still beautiful.

We went back over to Couer D'Alene on Sunday. Did some shopping and had more food! I swear that is all we did is eat.

Monday morning we woke up and got ready to head for home. All of us were a little sad to be leaving. We had many late night talks with laughing and crying. We all learned how to be more in tune with ourselves. It was a great trip to go be Chelsie on. Once again we timed it right (which we feel is not by chance and that heavenly father had a huge hand in) Ezra ended up coming home 7 days later from his deployment. Which was not planned or expected. Maddy was actually planning on delivering her baby on her own with her mom in June because she wasn't sure if he was going to be home. It was another testament that Heavenly Father does know what is going on and that at certain times he sends people into your live to help things move along. Until our next girl trip...
