Here we are in a new year 2020! We spent New Year's Eve at home. We had crab, steak, and mashed potatoes. Everyone's favorite. Grandma came over and we played cover your assists and nuts about mutts for 4 hours. This was our first picture of 2020.
This little one loves to go run errands with me. We don't go to Smiths very often, but when we do we have to get the little carts. All my kids have had turns with the little carts.
While we were at Smiths we found some makeup on clearance and it made this girls day. Very fancy indeed.
I step away and when I turn back around she is up on the counter playing the iPad.
Addi is playing club volleyball this year. I can't remember if I have wrote about it or not. So if I did then we will have it written down twice I guess.
When she was playing rec league, Jami Branch told us that her daughter Lexie was going to maybe try out for club volleyball and that Addi probably should too. I figured since Lexie is Coach Cory's daughter it wouldn't interfere with softball. She had only been playing 2 weeks for her entire life. She tried out for South County Volleyball Club. Jami knew one of the coaches for the club and asked if Addi was good enough if she would help encourage her to pull Addi up to the 12u group so that the softball girls could all be on the same schedule. Addi did great at tryouts and she did make one of the two 12u teams. She has learned so much more while on this club team. She once again is making everything look easy. She got her uniform and had to model it for us. Go number 8!
We got Provo rec center passes for the year for our family. So we made a couple trips to go swimming in January.
It was really quiet one night as everyone was getting ready for bed. I walk upstairs into our room and 3 out of the 4 kids were sleeping with dad.
In their Christmas stockings the kids got bath foam. It made quite the mess, but the giggles were plenty.
One of our walks to church. It was cute to see all 4 walking together.
Ty got 4 tickets to a Jazz game through work. We usually end up taking clients and it is fine because that is what he is suppose to use the tickets for, but I never know the clients. So I asked him if we could maybe invite friends that happened to bank with Zions. We decided to go with my good friend from high school, Lexi White now Peterson. We haven't done anything with her and her husband for over 11 years. We have stayed in contact all these years, but life just gets busy. We had a fun night of eating dinner downstairs, and having really good seats. We made it onto the big screen as well! And of course the Jazz won!!
Addi had her first volleyball tournament on January 11. All of her grandparents came to support her. There were lots of nerves at the tournament because it was everyones first. Towards the end of the tournament Addi knew they were loosing and got rotated out. When the coach tried to put her back in Addi told her no. We ended up no placing in the tournament and Addi was mad. We had to have a good little talk about how we need to be good team players. Yes, she was tired and needed a break, but that doesn't mean you get to tell your coach no. We had to let Addi know that she is one of the better players on her team and her coach needed her to go in and help them. We said we do what our coaches ask. She apologized to her coach for not being a team player and would do better from now on. It was a good learning/teaching moment for all of us.
Why not have a little picnic with toys inside in the middle of winter?
This year in school, Addi has had a bit of a hard time. Not anything bad, but things are definitely getting more advanced in her learning and it stresses her out a bit. Mr. Groves has been great at trying to get her to reach her potential and also has kept us in the loop of how to help her. We all believe in her and know she can do it, she just needs a bit more help. She is still doing great and I don't want it to come across as she is failing because she isn't at all. We all just want her to do her best.
When she came home with news that she was student of the month we knew she had all earned it. She got student of the months because she is committed. That she is!
Addi used to fall asleep like this too, but without having sparkly makeup on.
Lyn loves to do make up on everyone else too. Dad looks pretty good in sparkles.
Emmy learned a new trick in dance. She had me film it and send it to everyone in Vernal, send it to your mom, mom, and to grandpa Jensen. So I followed instructions and sent it to all those people.
More makeup!
I spy with my little eye a little girl.
We took the kids to see Dr. Dolittle, which was super cute. Afterwards they wanted to ride the train and the motored animals.
We decided to go out on the 15th and spend the day with Nan in Vernal. We spent 24 hours just hanging out with her and Justin. We went shopping, we had dinner, and we played cover your assets.
We also went to my grandma's house and picked up a few things from there. We had to box Nan in because of all the stuff.
Emmy wrote her E in the dirt on Grandma's car.
We went to watch Kenadee play volleyball on weekend. Lyn was super tired and ended up falling asleep on me for a good hour.
These two have quite the imagination when playing together. They play nice and then one little thing will set the both off and then they start screaming at each other. So we take the good times when they come.
They made an airplane with all the chairs.
Parker started smart start basketball on the 28th of January. He plays twice a week and his dad gets to be his coach this time.
While Ty and I were in Salt lake for our anniversary we went over to church history museum. I thought this painting was so beautiful.
January seemed like a super long long month. The weather was actually really mild, but it is still winter and we don't get to be outside as much as we used to. It seemed to drag on and on. Glad it is February now. We get to celebrate lots of birthdays and get ready to go to Disneyland!
