I think I may need to go get help. I have a Disney problem. We went to Disneyland AGAIN!! We surprised the kids and told them we would be spending Halloween at Disneyland and doing Mickey's Halloween Party. The thing that changed this time was that we were driving because we needed to get back to St. George by Friday for Addi's softball tournament. I sent the kids on a little scavenger hunt around the house. I gave them clues like... where would Ariel be if she was in the house, where would sleeping beauty be, If Elsa needed to keep something Frozen where would she put it. It was cute to see them all running around the house. Grandma Debbie was also coming with us this time. She hasn't been to Disneyland since she was 10, that was 50 years ago. She did take us to DisneyWorld 10 years ago, but they are two completely different places.
We broke up the trip and left Sunday the 28th after the kids did their primary program at church. We drove half way and made it to Las Vegas by 10:00 that night. It was 6 hours from Spanish Fork. We made a stop in St. George for dinner and the hit the road again. Lyndi had a hard time driving that long, but everyone else did pretty well. The kids loved seeing all the lights and the tall tall hotels. They woke up and the first thing they wanted to do was find the pool. It was on the roof! We weren't in a hurry to get to California so swimming it was.
We got to California about 3:00 that afternoon. We went grocery shopping for things for the house we were staying at that was near disneyland, and hung out at the house till it got dark. We walked over to Downtown Disney and saw everything Halloween!
Tuesday we went into the park! We spent all day there. This was the first time we went that we haven't had tiny tiny ones.
We love us some churros!
You haven't been to a parade unless you have gone to a Disney parade.
Addi got to be a Jedi and fight Darth Vador! Super cool!
Wednesday we didn't go into the park until 3 that afternoon. I needed the day of rest since I was only 2 weeks post surgery. I was super wiped out at night, but for the most part I did alright. I took ibeprofen and wore a heat wrap that helped with the soreness.
We all got dressed up and ready to go. The weather was PERFECT! Last year when we went it was so HOT! We had this year a storm trooper, rapunzel, minnie mouse, stitch, a couple of pirates, and cranky Grandma (her words not mine). Jessica and Mike met up with us that night too, but we didn't get a picture with them. They stayed at the house too, but only stayed 2 nights.
This is the way to trick or treat.. walk along and have people dump candy into your bags. Us as adults got to get treats as well.
The firework show is by far my favorite thing about the Halloween party. I couldn't get a good picture. The picture of the castle all different colors will have to do.
This was all of our candy combined. Parker snuck out all the snickers.
Our neighbors the Van Dyke's did a spur of the moment trip with us. We didn't get to spend a lot of time with them because our schedules didn't match up the best. We were only there in the park 2 full days and the 3rd day was the halloween party which they didn't have tickets too. But we still loved the few things we were able to do together.
Lyndi was scared of Queen of Hearts when we first got into the park, but all the other characters she LOVED! Woody came into Toy Story Mania and we happened to be right there where he walked in.
Lyndi absolutely fell in love with Dale, and his little keeper. He is there in the picture on the right. I guess she made friends with him and walked around the playground holding his hand.
Emmy's dream came true! On our last day (Thursday) She was able to go into the bippity bop pity boutique. She even got her own fairy godmother. She let her do her hair with out complaint, she got her nails painted, and she got her make up done as well. It was her and I doing this because everyone else was riding the cars ride. It was fun to spend some one on one with her. She loved her backpack that was filled with her make up compact as she called it, her hair things, and nail polish. She toted that backpack around for 2 full days.
When we got done with her hair, Sleeping Judy happened to be right outside by her castle. We were the last ones in line. Emmy got to talk to her all about herself. She showed her crown, her fingernails, and her makeup. It was the cutest thing.
Emmy got to see the WITCH! She loves watching for the witch on the Snow White ride. She loved playing in Minnie Mouse's house as well.
We had to wake up super early Friday morning to get to St. George in time. An hour into the drive back this was our view. Everyone was asleep!
Until next time Disney! You always give us great memories!
