January

 New year, welcome 2025!!!

My goal for the year is to be more intentional. Be intentional in my relationships, in myself and in all aspects of life. It has felt good to have a phrase of sorts instead of one big goal.

We opted to start of 2025 with some top golf. It was a bit chilly because we were there at 10:00 in the morning. It was a fun way to start the day though.

Addi's first volleyball started off great. They took first place! She had a rough start to the year with SCVC because she is not setting this year. She has been a setter for so many years. She is now a hitter and she is great at that too, but her identity has mainly been a setter. There are also some new faces on the team this year and that has been an adjustment as well. They are a cute little team though and do play really well together even though they are new.

Parker received a new office in the Aaronic Priesthood. He is now a teacher. Those that stood in his circle were dad, grandpa, Josh Clegg, and Randy Rawe. He is such a good kid with such a big heart. It is awesome to see him want to do good and choose goodness. We also have such a supportive family. I am grateful how they show up for our kids. I know they will look back on it one day and realize how much they were loved.

Addi and her best friend Jordyn were really brave and asked Gavin and Warren to sweethearts. It was super cute to see them making their posters and deliver there. There were lots of giggles.

Addi got her answer back a few days later. She said that at school the boys were acting really weird and she didn't know what to think about it because they are friends.

Addi had a tournament in Denver in the middle of the month. Dad was supposed to come with us, but he came down with Influenza A in the middle of the week and he was feeling a bit better, but then the night before we left Lyn ended up catching it. So he stayed home to get feeling better and to be with Lyn. Addi and I had a fun little girls trip. She got to stay with me instead of her team. We played games in our room while it snowed a bunch outside, ate good food, and then watched/ played a lot of volleyball. Our team played great and ended up placing third. HUGE accomplishment!

We tried to go to church with some of the other girls/parents and when we showed up to the church, it was stake conference. Whoops! We tried though and the Lord loves effort!

We tried to catch an earlier flight and we were lucky enough to get on one. We found our coins when we went through security. We knew our angels were with us!

I got back in time from Denver to head to a midnight release party at the store. I love the friends and community I have made while working at Poppy Books. It is something I didn't know I needed.

Lyn had 100 day at school and tried to dress up like an old lady. The glasses and the sweater didn't last long after this picture.

We had to find a dress of Addi's dance. We look at a few places, tried on a few, and were not finding anything we liked. At our last stop we ended up finding 2 dresses. She chose to wear the red on, and save the mint colored one for another dance. She actually was a really good sport with trying on dresses. Normally getting her to try on clothes is a chore.

We got to go see Justin Timberlake last minute. We were able to get tickets for the suite from Zions Bank. It was fun to go to a concert since we haven't gone to one in a while. Whitney and Casch happened to already be going to the concert as well and so we had dinner with them and then headed over.

We had a really mild winter this year. Not much snow at all. I mean it made it for a decent winter, but it always makes for a scary spring/summer when we don't have enough water. I do hope next winter we will have just a tad bit more snow.
